Updates and Announcements
Linda Kundert-Stoll and Canadian Piano Music April 13
Linda Kundert-Stoll will be giving a talk sponsored by ARMTA Calgary Branch on her favourite Canadian piano music for Grade 5 and up.
Canadian Music: Great Music for Great Teaching!!
By Linda Kundert-Stoll
Sunday April 13, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm
Michael Lipnicki Fine Pianos - 6033 Centre St SW
Canadian music is so much fun! Students love to play it and they learn so much from performing it! Ms. Kundert-Stoll will present and discuss a music sampler of some of her favorite teaching pieces for piano solo from Grade 5 through ARCT. She will play some of the samples herself and will talk about the challenges and basic characteristics of each piece. Her presentation includes student, and professional, performances of many of the works. If you plan to enter students in the Contemporary Showcase festival or just wish to expand your knowledge of 20th Century repertoire in these levels, this talk is for you. (This particular talk was prepared for and given to the Cranbrook music teachers in BC in November, 2013.)
2014 Recital to Feature Erika Gundesen
Erika Gundesen will present the CASS recital for 2014, in partial fulfillment of her Master of Music degree from Guild Hall in London, England.
Mozart - Sonata in D Major K576
Ravel - Miroirs
Earl Wild - 7 Etudes on Gershwin Songs
Kapustin - Variations, Op.41
Erika is a former Piano Camper and we are pleased to have her present her recital in Calgary.
2014 Piano Camp and Piano Pedagogy Clinicians
Willard Schultz and Edwin Gnandt will be the clinicians for Piano Pedagogy Workshop for 2014. Edwin Gnandt will be the clinician for Piano Camp and Adult Piano Camp.
Composer for Piano Camp
Chopin will be the composer for Piano Camp — this doesn't apply to Adult Piano Camp — and registrants may choose any piece by Chopin that they want to learn for their composer piece. Campers will still need to prepare another piece (which does not have to be Chopin) for the master classes and recital.
A CASSA Summer Camp will be the best part of a summer vacation.
